Duties and responsibilities include transcribing, logging, cataloging and editing existing oral history testimony, as well as researching potential candidates for giving future oral history testimony. Students may also get the opportunity to conduct interviews themselves if candidate research is successful.
Qualifications include students who have an interest in local or American history, have excellent communication skills, and computer proficient. Undergraduate or graduate history students are encouraged to apply. Experience with oral history and audio editing software Audacity is preferred but not necessary.
This is an unpaid internship. Students will attend an orientation session before commencing the internship, and then they will work an average of 10 hours a week or the amount which meets the requirements of the students’ internship class or college program.
