Internships at Chicago Public Media

Looking for an internship in public radio? Chicago Public Media offers internships with a focus on radio production and reporting. Be an intern on our show Sound Opinions, learn how to research and book guests on Vocalo or The Morning Shift. Attend press conferences, get sound bites from local politicians and cover breaking news for our newscasts.

Interns have an opportunity to learn about various aspects of talk show producing or reporting while gaining hands-on experience in a major market media institution. These are not coffee getting internships. Unless you really like coffee.

Internship Calendar Internships are offered twice a year and last six months:

• January through the end June (applications open in October) 
• Beginning of July through December (applications open in March) 

We do not offer internships that last only during the summer semester, unless we have a partnership with an educational institution or a third party organization. Applications are open now. Deadline has been extended to 4pm November 13, 2015.
