CAI and CAHM/Killing Fields Memorial Internship Opportunity

The Cambodian Association of Illinois and the Cambodian American Heritage Museum & Killing Fields Memorial is currently looking for interns/volunteers to start in January.

Volunteers must be able to commit to a 4 week or 8 week term and have the option to renew after each term. Volunteers must also commit to a minimum of 2 hours a week.

CAI/CAHM is looking to fill several positions: museum docents, museum assistants (archival and cataloging), social media assistants or interns, and office receptionist.

  • Museum Docents – Assist in giving tours to scheduled groups during the week and/or weekends. Docents will be trained in how to professionally and ethically converse and interact with museum guests and staff. 
  • Museum Assistants – Assist museum staff with cataloging, preserving, and general day to day housekeeping of museum space and artifacts. This will also include assisting with the museum gift shop. 
  • Social Media Assistant – Assist with updating museum’s social media outlets and promote museum events and programs. 
  • Front Desk Receptionist – This is located at CAI’s front desk. Main job duties will include screening calls and transferring to appropriate staff, data entry, and daily staff support.
